Re: Please advice on buying a laser engraver for leather badges
Just about any laser can do a fantastic job on leather. In my experience, a diode laser has the nicest engravings, but is the slowest. As far as diode lasers go, the Roly Automation LaserMATIC series is the best on the market. The benefit to RF laser is speed, but Roly is introducing a galvo version...

Re: New laser - Bodor 1309X 150w need clb file?
I was wondering if there is such a file out there to suit the 150W co2? I found a 130w one. There isn't much difference between the 130 and 150W Co2 Craig. Cutting and engraving will be just a little faster. Use the 130 clb as a reference point for doing material tests. That's what all clb files ar...

Re: Laser BUSY error
This is likely packet loss when sending the job due to a faulty USB port or cable. First try another port on the computer, and if that doesn't work, change the cable.

The first thing you need to know when using a laser is how origins work. Watch this video to get a better understanding.

Re: Which library for OmTech 350 50w?
It's so hard to get a straight answer from anyone, anywhere :( I am also a new user and have the Omtech 350. It is so hard to just find something that takes you from the very beginning as if you have absolutely ZERO laser and Lightburn experience. Very frustrating When you buy a budget laser, you g...

Re: Which library for OmTech 350 50w?
...none are listed specifically for the omtech polar 350 50w laser. Would I use the ones for the monport 55w? Yup, you just get as close as you can with a library. The only reason you see specific manufacturer downloads for libraries is because I own those lasers. In some cases the manufacturer pro...

Material tests is the only way to get a library that works for your specific laser.

Check your gantry belt. There might be some debris in there stopping the movement. With the laser off, see if you can move to home by hand.

Re: Well THIS sucks!
I’m not arguing with you, Rich. To me, words mean things. It just kind of pokes me in the eye when I read something like, “I suck ALL of the air out of the Ziploc bag” So why is that every manufacturer does it? Why not just slap it in a bag, then a box and send it to the warehouse? That would elimi...
