What to do, which to buy?

Post by Kryter »

Hi everyone.
I have a small side business with my wife where we do wood trophies and wood magnets, and some other stuff.
Here is the catch. I currently have a sculpfun s30 pro 10watt and it's becoming insufficient for the amount of work that we have.
I've been looking into some other machines like Creality Falcon 2 pro 40w, Roly LaserMatic MK2 XW 30w and Xtool S1 40w.
Also we're looking to upgrade to engraving stainlessness steel so we are looking also for an IR module.
Keep in mind that I also want to occasionally cut some opaque acrylic.

What would be the best choice from this 3 options? Or do have a different opinion from a different machine?
Please help a small wood burner from Portugal :D
My name is Kryter. I use an Sculpfun S30 Pro, 10W laser. I am new at laser/engraving.

Roly. You can do stainless steel with it without needing an IR module. However, if you want to do more with acrylics, you'll want to get into CO2.
Using an Atomstack A20 20W with an RA2 rotary, and Roly LaserMatic10. Professional cabinet maker with plenty of scraps to burn.

I also have the sculpfun s30 pro extended. It's very unreliable, nothing is worse than getting near the end of your project and it makes an incorrect cut wasting an entire piece of wood. I recently upgraded to the roly and I it's like a night and day difference! Just the camera alone blew me away and saved me so much wasted material. It's not as big a work area but I'm search now for someone using the pass thru so I can retire the sculpfun or at least use it only in emergencies. The tech is moving faster than my pockets I wish I could set up a utube to test all the new stuff for free lol.

If you want to cut acrylic then you need co2 as diodes will not do it.

It is not a priority at this moment co2 machines. But I've seen Xtool S1 vids ... Cutting dark acrylic. How about that? Sorry my ignorance

Make that clear and blue acrylic. Black is OK. And get the Roly.

Seems like white is also a no go.

It's the usual list. Anything clear, white, translucent white, close to blue etc.

How about a CO2 machine? I've recently found out that there is a CO2 machine in same range price as the Roly.
I'm talking about the Gweike Cloud 50w and or the NOX 50w. What do you have to say about these models

Thanks in advance.
