I love my D1 PRO laser from X-TOOL. I still have FIVE of them, new in their boxes, not even opened yet!
I know things change, but I am almost afraid to buy ANYTHING anymore. You hunt around surf the Net, and finally decide to buy that one thing you have been drooling over! You rush to the store. There it is! Only ONE LEFT on the shelf! You grab it like a Titanic passenger grabs a pool floatie, and rush to the register!
"I finally found it! I saved up the money! Here it is! $60.00 !!"
"Sir, this has been marked down to $19.95. The new models are coming in through the back door today. But here is a coupon to use when you send this one in for $10.00 in credit toward the purchase of a new one ......"

I can't say it enough, xTool is a marketing company. There extensive engineering staff exists only to create new products to make their last product obsolete. Roly Automation makes far superior, commercial grade lasers and supports them 100%. If you really hear what uncensored opinions on the company are, you need look no further than their official Facebook group. Roly is an end-user focused company.

There is no shortage of complaints about ROLY lasers either.

I wish roly would make a more powerful laser, 30 watts is a little low, now if they would make a 60 watt or more I'd be a customer
Last year everyone was happy with a 10W. Roly is launching a 40W soon with COS technology that will have a spot size of the 10W, but with a diode laser, the current 10/30W is the sweet spot for me. I actually use my 10/20W more than any other diode laser, and I have them up to 70W. Detailed engraving is more important to me since I don't cut anything over 10mm. If you do a lot of engraving and big jobs, speed is more important than power. I usually engrave with the LaserMATIC at 25K mm/min which works for me. Diode lasers are not like Co2 lasers, where you can get 1200 mm/sec with 2 or 3G acceleration, so the only drawback to a diode is speed due to the stepper motors... 30W is more than enough for engraving IMO.
I’m not arguing with you, Rich. To me, words mean things. It just kind of pokes me in the eye when I read something like, “I suck ALL of the air out of the Ziploc bag” when I know that it’s not possible to remove ALL of the air by this method. It does reduce the atmospheric pressure inside of the bag just a bit and maybe that helps, but if the bag is sealed by the Ziploc seal, then the moisture content inside of the bag is handled by the silica sand, and it doesn’t matter what the pressure inside the bag really is. The bag is going to absorb the moisture it can, and that’s all I can do. So in a plastic canister when you close the lid, the atmospheric pressure inside of the canister is the same as outside of the canister, but the canister is sealed. You drop the silica bags inside and they do their job to remove the moisture inside of the sealed container in the same way they remove moisture from inside of a sealed plastic bag.

So why is that every manufacturer does it? Why not just slap it in a bag, then a box and send it to the warehouse? That would eliminate an assembly line for vacuum packing. Common sense should tell you that less air is better. Words mean things to me too! It seems all you ever want to do is try and discredit me for some reason. Don't worry though, I won't offer anymore advice to someone who obviously doesn't really want to hear it.

Got to hand it to you Rich for not being offended very easily, especially from someone who likes to argue over things he has very little experience with.
What makes even less sense is discrediting the owner of the very forum being used to make said arguments, especially when that owner has the power to make such persons account disappear easily. Just sayin'.
Using an Atomstack A20 20W with an RA2 rotary, and Roly LaserMatic10. Professional cabinet maker with plenty of scraps to burn.
