Order directly from Commarker

Post by hamanjam »

Has anyone ordered their fiber laser directly from ComMarker? I just placed an order and noticed after the fact that they do not charge taxes or any duties. I am in the US, is there additional customs to pay on the order? They made references to US warehouses but now it's not clear.

I just received my ComMarker B4 30W directly from ComMarker. I got it about 5 days after placing the order. There were no additional fees or duties, and the package was delivered by UPS. Although I was also somewhat concerned when placing the order, the process was very smooth. I had occasion to send the company an inquiry via email, to which they responded within 24 hours.
Paul, I have a Longer 40W Diode Laser, Longer Ruby Infra Red, and a ComMaker B6 30W Fiber Laser.
I am retired and have been playing around with laser printers only a couple months.

I got a Omni 1 from them in December. Took 9 days to get the second box, I believe. No additional taxes or tariffs ... but this was last December. The orange man might have changed all that. I wouldn't be able to pay $4999.00 for the laser and then $6248 for orange guy taxes. If I were ordering today, I'd have to be 100% sure of what I was going to have to spend. They do seem to be a good company and I've had good experiences with customer service.

I just received a Commarker B6 MOPA. Ordered on Wednesday and it arrived on Saturday from a Fulfillment Center, nothing stated Commarker on shipping labels. No shipping charges or tax. Must be built into the total price.

It all depends.

If from US warehouse .. all good. If shipped from China, you may get an invoice from the delivery agent. Prior to the tariffs, the harmonized cost was 5%. Some shipping will build that in, but now unlikely. As one of the other replies noted, the fulfillment centers would already have all the wholesale costs built in.

I did end up getting my laser directly, but I made them run it through their supply channel where they are responsible for all duties/fees/taxes. Going this method took 3 weeks from order to delivery but it was better than being part of fraud.

ComMarker sent me an email early in the order process that they could list the price on the invoice as $300 which would reduce the amount charged on import. Doing that leaves the recipient to either correct the value on the customs forms or knowingly accept the shipment with a fraudulent manifest value. If Customs would pull an inspection and find the value of the package to be $3500, then they would charge the recipient all additional taxes plus penalties and could go as far as charge them with fraud or seize the package at the border. I replied I would not pe a party to fraud and only then did they offer to ship the package and be responsible for all charges. It's a totally shady way to do business leaving the customer liable
