Can you help me choose.

Post by Jikke »

Hi,

i'm using a diode laser (sculpfun s 30 PRO) for some time now. I want to speed up things. I read a lot and found 3 possible buys. Can someone help me choose the best out of these 3 (4)?

1. https://www.vevor.nl/lasergraveermachin ... 0948821985
2. https://www.monportlaser.de/collections ... -autofokus
3. https://omtechlaser.de/products/70w-co2 ... -turbo-747
https://omtechlaser.de/products/omtech- ... -engraving

Thanks.

It's for a small buisiness.

Hi All,

I'd like to double down on this ask... Like Jikke, I've been using a diode laser, too (20w xTool D1 non-Pro since its release) and it has served me quite well, pretty much paying for itself over the years via casual use and sales. I recently hooked up with a local businessman that has me making some things for his company, and some of his colleagues have been expressing interest, such that I'm really considering an upgrade to a CO2 laser in an effort to speed things up and have a larger bed on which to cut/engrave. Wouldn't consider myself a 'small business' (yet) but if the promise of the volume that might be coming my way is anywhere close to his hype, I will be hard pressed to keep up with the D1.

All that being said, looking for suggestions that will balance power, bed size, & budget, without too much hassle/learning curve getting it to work like my D1 using Lightburn.

Much appreciated,

Rod

I'm in exactly the same position as Jikke, I've had a Sculpfun S30 PRO for a year now and it's been in constant use and I've had good results. But I want something a bit quicker and with the ability to cut white materials, hence going to a CO2 laser. The Omtech is at the top of my list at the moment with their new Pronto 80W being the one I fancy, yes it is a lot more expensive but I reckon you're getting a lot more for your money.

I would dearly like to hear from anyone who has first hand experience of Omtech machines.

PS I'm based in the UK

I added the Pronto45 to my collection. Used the S30, then a custom built K40 and now the Pronto 45 (100w). Chose that model for the bed size.
Been using it for a few months now and it has been fantastic. Very accurate, fast, easily maintained. Very well built machine ... the wiring is a work of art.
I highly recommend.
