How much better is it to switch to a direct drive on my ender 3 v2 neo
How much better is it to switch to a direct drive on my ender 3 v2 neo
Am thinking of going to direct drive on my e3 neo. And is a drying box a good thing to get .
Al Ortur laser master 2. laser tree lt80w about 1 week's exp about 6 years pen turning exp.

It depends on what kind of filament your going to print nozzle diameter(0,8mm 1mm), etc.
A drying box usually is good to have.

There are good and bad thing with direct drive. I have the Micro Swiss DD kit for my Ender 5 but never put it on as I am too worried about introducing the ringing on larger prints and having to slow down which would defeat the purpose. It is a decision you will have to make if you think it is worthwhile or not. One of the biggest pluses for it is the small filament path and not wasting as much when you change rolls.
Dry box - yes. Even for PLA unless you live in a very dry climate. I just store mine in airtight containers with desiccant and use the heated dry box I have to print from so it keeps the filament nice and dry the whole time.

Re: How much better is it to switch to a direct drive on my ender 3 v2 neo
I have been printing with direct drive 3d printers for more than 7 years. I prefer direct drive over Bowden. The question is what are you trying to accomplish, and what do you think direct drive will do for you? Has nothing at all with nozzle diameter, and nothing at all to do with filament type. I print a ton of different types on direct drive, without issue, primarily PETg, PETg CF. If you are going to print flexible filaments, at any type of speed, direct drive is the way to go. Not all direct drives are created equal, I have used the Flashforge MK10, E3D Titan, Bondtech BMG and clones, E3D Hemera, and the Big Tree Tech H2, and I like the Hemera, and H2's the best.
My name is Rich. I use an SparkMaker Laser Pro 10W laser. I am new to this hobby.

I think flexible is a type of filament?
I´m on Bondtech FM DD Volcano and with a 1.2 nozzle (high flow) its way better to use DD (less retraction).
Happy New Year

Yes flexible is referred to as TPU or TPE
