Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
Re: Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
Interesting. I'll keep that in mind. I don't think I've run any raster jobs on mine. I got the 5W machine for raster image work when I realized the 20W had a fatter beam than expected.

I also have been having this same issue since the update in LB. I did find something that worked for me so I wanted to share. When I opened the Move window I noticed that over on the right hand side the distance was set to 500mm or something. I changed that to 8mm and things have started behaving again for the AF.

Interesting. That should only affect jogging. Focus and homing should be internal to the firmware /controller.

You da F-ing MAN! Thanks for doing all that work. I cannot believe it was that simple. But these things usually are. Finally, it struck me that the problem might be the fact I run Lightburn in Imperial units. I changed Lightburn to metric and tried autofocus -- it worked!
Re: Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
Same issue on my K1 Pro so i made my own work around.
I leave mine in imperial units, i changed the macro button and added g21 before [esp500] and after i added g20 which fixed my issues.

Re: Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
Just got back to this thread -- That is an awesome solution! I'm going to try that, that would make the autofocus much more useful.

OK, got the chance to try this. It is awesome! Now I can autofocus any time without having to go through a bunch of contortions with unit settings and re-homing. Thanks for posting this.

Re: Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
I have read through this thread and have troubleshooted all day to no avail.
Atomstack X70 Pro Max -Brand new and I cannot get the z axis to work at all. Here is a link to video showing how it crashes into the work area and just continues.
I have tested the switch for the z axis, if I depress it the machine beeps indicating it hit a limit, but then it doesn't come back off the material.
I have tried playing with console settings and most things mentioned here.
Is this just a fault from manufacturer?

Re: Ikier K1 Pro Max AutoFocus problem
I may have accidentally found a fix for this issue. I had been having this same issue of having to use autofocus twice, but didn't let it bother me. I just did it twice and carried on. While doing an engrave, a screw fell off of the laser head and I did not know where it came from. I did a youtube search and found a video of a repair. It turned out to be an allen screw on the bottom side of the z-axis guide rod on the left side. I put it back in and tightened both screws on both guide rods. I have not had to autofocus twice since. So possibly this could fix the problem with other people having this issue. Tighten the z-axis guide rod screws on the bottom. I hope this helps others.
