Laser grinds

Post by laserveteran »

Hi my name is Dan. This is my second laser I have owned. It is a Ortur lasermaster 2s2, with an extended bed. New size is 39x80cm. My lightburn version is 1.6.03. After watching numerous videos I am stumped. I put the laser in the middle of the workplace, hit the home button and all it does is go to the left side of the frame and grinds constantly. With my first laser every problem I had all I had to do is watch some of your videos. I get error codes: 1,5,8,9. All different times. Please help..

Is this a brand new machine? Has it ever worked properly? Did it come with the extension kit installed or did you make the modifications? If you trigger the x axis limit switch manually does it stop?
I'm Tim, I'm a lifelong woodworker, I have a Tusy 10W Diode laser and a 100W OMTech C02. I started down this rabbit hole Dec. 2023.

Hi Dan, a hard limit stop is a sign that the gantry is not square to the machine and the machine cannot hit the limit switch.

It also maybe possible that one of your wires to the motor is loose.
