Hello,
My Z-axis motor sometimes fails to rise. When I turn the printer on, I can do a "Z-axis homing" and it homes just fine. Then, after moving it up and down a bit in "slow control", it suddenly stops rising and just goes down, just making noises. This happens both under Pronterface and S3D. Apparently, this happens due to the motor heating up during use. This is a genuine Z-axis stepper motor from the 12/19V series M2, which is known to get very hot, so maybe it just reached the end of its life early. Keeping everything lubricated is definitely not a problem, as I do it regularly. The weird thing is that it works for about 20-30 seconds after powering up, then suddenly switches to this mode and can no longer raise the bed. Does this mean I need a new Z-axis stepper motor (https://www.oyostepper.es/)?

Carefully check the electrical connections. Loose connections can do strange things.
