Hello from the Philippines. I am an individual with autism living in the Philippines (with my wife…I am 48) and I am watching your videos and learning to use a laser for the first time. It has been very hard for me all my life to keep jobs and I’m hoping that this might be a solution. I am hoping to be able to work (mostly) from home and eventually earn some kind of money so I can help support my wife. I am grateful that she has a good job, but I am having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that a regular job will probably never work for me (especially in the Philippines).
From here, lasers are very cheap. I am hoping to get a Sculpfun iCube (5W) with the Air Assist kit which is available here for about $180 USD…that’s the price for the laser and the Air assist together!. (That’s about 1 month salary for most people here…and most of these jobs, if you can be lucky to get one, need a university degree). I think this laser will be ok for me to learn since it seems to be fairly quiet and has some air filtration. That was the best option for a laser with air assist and a shield I could find, and I plan to vent out a window in our apartment. I plan to make stamps which are in demand here and also to develop stamps that can be used for educational purposes (instead of a printer) and for stamp-based games. Many people don’t have access to technology in the Philippines and stamps could enable them to create things they need or want like forms, educational material, games…etc. Eventually I would like to develop a simple wood printing press using a drum (old cans) and springs (rubber from trees, or wood suspended in water) with interchangeable stamps that could be used in areas without power. (Yes…the past is the future!)
With that said, I wasn’t able to find a “register/login” button or link on your website. I am writing this through a WordPress account I just got, but had the same message when I tried to post on your website about needing to “log-in”. If you could please provide a link as to where to register, that would be great. If this is just a private website and I can’t register, it’s ok, I understand.
Thanks for making the videos…they are helping a lot with learning the LightBurn software.
Mike
P.S. Sorry for rambling.
You can’t register for the website since there is nothing here to register for, but you can comment with a WP account. The forums are different and have their own registration page.
