New Toy!

Say hello to my NEW TOY! An early birthday present, I got a 2-in-one 3D printer and laser!

I have been researching 3D printers for a LONG time now and I finally settled on the ANYCUBIC Mega Pro, 2-in-one with the laser attachment. This is ANYCUBIC’S 4th Gen 3D Printer, and by all the YouTube videos I’ve watched, it’s the best one yet!

So what does this have to do with woodworking you might ask? Great question!
You can PRINT Kreg tools with ABS just as one example. $49 to buy, or how about $3 to PRINT one?!

You can PRINT so many different woodworking tools already designed at thingiverse.com, or you can even PRINT your own designs if you learn how! Just check out this link to the MakerBot Thingiverse website!

Now YOU can print and own all these tools and more for pennies on the dollar!
2-in-1 marking gauge
Pocket hole jig
Hinges
Paint triangle stand-offs
Corner clamp braces
T-slot hold downs and knobs (in fact, all T-slot accessories!)
Corner round-over jigs
Centering jigs
Circle jigs
Speed squares
Kerf makers

And so much more! There are literally hundreds of tools you can PRINT at home! How convenient is that? Not having to go to the hardware store for a hinge, or a nut and bolt!

Check out these triangle standoffs! They’re an inch tall with mounting holes. Cost for the filament was 32 cents! They have a seriously nice point that won’t compromise the wood during finishing like my old nails on a board DIY did.

Not only that, but with the 2-in1, you also get a laser engraver! You’ll be able to engrave custom names and images on your woodwork! Whether it’s your logo or a custom picture on a cutting board for a customer, your work will STAND OUT from everyone else!

I got it setup in under 15 minutes and made my first two test prints. A pair of owls that came from the manufacturer on the SD card, and a couple of plant spikes I designed in the free software for the wife. I have to say, this thing is AWESOME!

I got the ANCUBIC Mega Pro 2-in-1 from Amazon for right at $400.00. This was the best money I have ever spent on tools! You’ll see some of the items I print in upcoming blog posts, and I think I’m gonna try my hand at doing some videos as well.

Stay tuned! There’s a lot more coming!
