The Creation Process
The design was inspired by a request from a friend who provided a picture as a reference. I took on the challenge and aimed to improve upon the original concept. After over an hour and a half of prototyping on a file named “He Is Risen for 2026,” the design was completed, painted, and prepared to be gifted.
Although the timing was just before Easter 2026, the design is versatile enough to be used for any future Easter holiday.
Available File Formats
To accommodate a wide range of laser cutting machines and software, the design has been made available in several formats:
- LightBurn file: For users of the LightBurn software.
- ALP file: Specifically for the Aliencell X1 laser cutter. This file comes with detailed instructions to make the process straightforward.

- In LightBurn, the design consists of only two layers: an engrave layer and a cut layer.
- In the Alien Cell software, the design is grouped into four layers. Users can toggle the visibility of these layers to select which parts to cut or engrave. This allows running multiple groups simultaneously, optimizing the use of the machine’s 12 by 12-inch workspace.
All files come with a read-me file containing clear instructions to guide users through the process.
